MySpace is a tremendously fast growing social networking site with over 200 million members. This presents a great opportunity for network marketers, if they use MySpace responsibly. It is a mistake to think MySpace is a community of mostly kids and young people with nothing to do but spend time on the internet.

With thousands of people joining MySpace each day this gives marketers a wonderful opportunity to find like minded people, and new customers and distributors for their MLMs, when it is done professionally and with the right strategy.

An effective profile is one that lets the visitor get to know you and what you are about. Network marketing on the internet is about building relationships. People join a company because of you, and the leadership you can offer them. They also join people they trust. One way to build that trust is to personalize your profile. A picture of yourself is absolutely mandatory, as well as your name. You can add slide shows which can include pictures of your family, your travels, out doing fun things or pictures you may have of company events you have attended. You certainly can and should have a link to your web site or lead capture page, but your profile should be one that adds value and shows your leadership abilities.

Adding your own video can be very effective. Its much more personal, and really lets your visitors get to know you.

So how do you find other people on MySpace? One way is with groups. There are thousands and thousands of them. You can browse the business categories, money, health if you market a nutritional MLM, or any other category that would fit the profile of who you would like to meet. Then you can request them to add you as a friend. You can join as many groups as you wish, and start ones of your own. A group owner has even more advantages as its the first page everyone sees when they browse a group.

Just be careful with this and dont add too many friends at one time. MySpace has been known to delete accounts and you dont want that to happen.

If you want to prevent spammers from posting on your page or unwanted friend requests just go to your account settings and check CAPTCHA. This is a program that protects your site from bots which are software applications that automate friend requests and comments.

MySpace allows you to have your own blog, and its an important tool to be using. This way you can build relationships with others. Its even better if your blog includes marketing tips and strategies for people to learn from. The more leadership skills you can show others, the more attractive you are to potential customers and distributors.

As with anything, the more energy and time you put into MySpace the more profitable it can be for you. It wont cost you anything either.
