Blogging For Real Estate Leads

Real estate agents all have one thing in common; they all need leads to make a living. You can be the best real estate agent in the world but if no one is contacting you then you won’t be in business very long. Many otherwise knowledgeable real estate agents fail to consider the internet as a viable means of lead generation. In reality, the internet is perhaps the easiest and best way to generate leads.

A very simple way to start generating leads online is to start a simple blog. A blog, for those not in the “know,” is an online journal where you regularly post your thoughts and information. A blog gives you the opportunity to showcase your expertise and experience as a real estate agent. Those who read your blog can even leave comments on your different posts. In many ways, owning a blog and maintaining it on a regular basis is kind of like having a conversation with potentially thousands of prospective buyers and sellers.

Unless you real estate agency is based in very rural area, the chances are really good that your local real estate market is jam packed with other real estate agents. In many cases all of these other agents are competing with you to sell essentially the same property. To survive or better yet, to thrive, you need to separate yourself from the competition. In other words, you need to develop a competitive advantage. By establishing a blog you can set yourself apart from the competition and maintain a competitive advantage for years to come.

Most buyers who are prospecting for a real estate agent want an agent who is experienced and who knows the area very well. In short, buyers and sellers want an agent to represent them who has a reputation for getting the job done in the most satisfactory manner possible. Your blog gives you the chance to build your reputation as someone who is knowledgeable, understanding, and experienced. You can build this reputation by simply posting stories about your past transactions and some of the people you have helped over the years.

Aside from building your reputation and establishing a competitive advantage over your competitors, a blog can also educate your readers. Visitors to your blog will be looking for information about their local real estate market such as the average home price, future trends, etc. Many of the people who visit your blog may not even be interested in buying or selling a home at the time of their visit. However, by providing desirable information you can establish yourself as a real estate agent to turn to when they are ready to take action. The more visitors you get, the more questions you will likely get asked. You should be sure to answer these questions in as timely manner as possible.
